His Majesty King Mohammed VI inaugurated, at Yaacoub El Mansour district, the Regional Center for Dental Care, carried out for an amount of 25 million dirhams.
First of its kind in Morocco, the solidarity-based project, whose building works were launched by the sovereign on May 30, 2017, mirrors the royal will to reinforce the dental care offer in the region of Rabat-Sale-Kenitra through the setting up of community-based quality medical services that meet the citizens' needs. It is also in line with efforts made by the monarch to promote access of the underprivileged, mainly the elderly, poor students and special needs people, to dental care and reinforce the dental health system and integrate it in public health.
Built over a surface area of 1,580 square meters, the center will provide quality dental care for kids and adults in the Rabat-Sale-Kenitra region. It will be also involved in actions of prevention, information and awareness-raising about tobacco risks, self-medication and dental health. The center includes units for dental emergencies (consultations, outpatient hospital) which are operational from 8.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. to provide dental care directly. It also houses a radiology unit, a consultation unit for adults (4 rooms for dental care) and a pedodontics unit (2 consultation rooms for kids). The Center, which includes 17 dental chairs, one for disabled people and two for children, also comprises dental surgery units (operating room, recovery room, consultation room) and specialized consultations (Endodontics, Orthodontics, Periodontics, dental prosthesis), a sterilization area, a dental prosthesis laboratory, training and awareness-raising rooms, a meeting room and a media library.
The Regional Center for Dental Care has medical and paramedical staff, including 14 dental specialists, nurses and administrative and technical personnel.
