Collective dimension of social action

This collective approach is based, on the one hand, on the financial contributions of the Standing Support Committee. On the other hand, it relies on a delegation-based operating method, which involves the local participation of civil society organizations.

Many businesses and institutional operators expressed interest in being actively involved in Morocco's social development. This led to the establishment of the Standing Support Committee, which is comprised of representatives of more than 80 businesses, institutional operators and foundations. Donors contribute to a steady financial base, while partners contribute to the implementation of certain projects.

The Foundation's partnership approach also includes the delivery of turnkey projects. These tailor-made projects follow one of two principles:

  1. Cooperation between the Foundation and a patron (corporate or individual), who is the carrier of a project that responds to an identified need. Once the viability of the project is established, the Foundation is responsible for project management and implementation. Funding is, generally, provided by the patron.
  2. The contribution of a partner (member of the Standing Support Committee or an institutional entity with specific expertise) in the implementation of a project initiated by the Foundation. The partner undertakes to carry out the turnkey project on the basis of precise specifications issued by the Foundation.

Project partners are also involved in the management of the Foundation's projects. In keeping with the same rationale used with its associative partners, the Foundation entrusts the management of certain social projects to ministries and public or semi-public institutions (in particular health centers, training centers and educational institutions). Once the projects have reached maturity, they are transferred to relevant partners.

The Foundation's partnership approach also includes the delivery of turnkey projects in two specifics cases: cooperation between the Foundation and a patron, and the direct contribution of an institutional partner.

Partners Projetcs

Since its creation, the Foundation has been keenly interested in working with civil society organizations. As privileged partners, these organizations are essential relays, which conduct most of the work on the ground and report on actual needs. While the Foundation is in charge of project design and development, local management is entrusted to competent local organizations. Project sustainability is safeguarded thanks to the involvement of the above actors and of citizens and beneficiaries.

The Foundation has set up a support system dedicated to social actors to ensure optimal transfer of project management. Two forms of support are available:

  • Material support, in the form of financial assistance (working capital) and the provision of equipment;
  • Sharing of expertise with targeted training programs. The Bouknadel solidarity-based social center, which has been operational since 2010, provides support in management and skills building.

Other community platforms are available to civil society organizations:

  • The Al Hank CSO forum, Casablanca
  • The Hay Annajd CSO forum, Oujda
  • The Hay Tarik CSO forum, Fez
  • The Hay Hamria CSO forum, Meknes
