Organization

Transparent governance and flexible operations

The personal involvement of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and His determination to act effectively on behalf of the most deprived, are cornerstones of the commitment of all Foundation members.

Governance led by
His Majesty King Mohammed VI

As a charitable association, the Foundation is managed by a Board of Directors, chaired by His Majesty King Mohammed VI. The 23 members of the Board of Directors are drawn from Moroccan civil society and business community. They perform their duties on a voluntary basis and are involved in the conduct of strategic plans. A Royal Cabinet representative, who serves as the Foundation's coordinator, oversees the implementation of the Chairman's strategic orientations, approves budgets and action plans, and monitors management supervision.

The Board of Directors contributes financially to the Foundation's resources. Some directors also offer their expertise in specific sectors and human resources to particular projects. They also sit on the Board of Directors of the Foundation's specialized entities.

Organized by areas of expertise

The Foundation's team implements the strategy defined by the Board of Directors. It is also constantly mobilized on the ground, particularly during major humanitarian operations.
It is organized into different clusters:

  • Core business cluster - Mission of the Foundation: Project Monitoring, Humanitarian, Training, Innovation and Integration Program through Economic Activity;
  • Support Cluster: Buildings, Administrative, Logistics and Resources, Financial, Communication, Information Systems and Administrative Staff.

The central team relies on a network of regional project managers. They coordinate, develop and monitor projects in the field. They act as operational relays for project implementation. They regularly report on the needs of target populations and liaise with local partners and actors.

A unique network of independent specialized entities

A number of specialized entities stem from programs developed by the Foundation. They are dedicated to specific populations and linked to particular sectors such as persons with disabilities, handicrafts or solidarity-based micro-finance. The Foundation chairs these bodies and provides them with strategic direction. The facilities are managed by managing associations. They bring together all the partners involved in the specific fields of intervention (economic operators, public or semi-public departments and civil society) and are endowed with human and material resources of their own in order to perform their work.
