Acting in the general interest, in complementarity with public policies
Since its creation, the Foundation has prioritized health, as a vector of human development. It’s very first actions were aimed at supporting the medical sector, in particular, by contributing to the upgrading of existing public infrastructure, assisting hospitals or supplying specialized equipment (58 regional and provincial hospitals equipped since 1999).
The Foundation has also built numerous out-patient and medical-social centers (oncology centers, care units for burn victims, etc.), with special attention to facilities dedicated to the disabled (centers for the blind, centers for the physically and mentally disabled, etc.).
The Foundation also strives to make health care more accessible to citizens. Medical caravans are a combination of solidarity-based initiatives and multidisciplinary medical care for isolated and remote populations. They are thus intended to bring health services closer to the poor. They also enhance prevention and expand access to medical services in rural and peri-urban areas.
“ They [Moroccans] also want health coverage for all, easy access to quality medical services and their dignity to be preserved. ”
