HM King Mohammed VI launched the construction works of a training centre for maintenance and renewable energy jobs, giving a strong impetus to projects by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity in the region.
This project shows the special interest the sovereign takes in training youth, notably those from poor families, as well as his firm will to include this social segment in the different reforms undertaken in Morocco and improve its access to the different mechanisms and means of social and vocational integration.
It is also in line with the royal will to promote the use of natural resources in Morocco, preserve its environment, and ensure the durability of its economic and social development for future generations.
Worth 8 million dirhams, the centre, to be constructed over a surface area of 1,700 square meters, will offer vocational training to around 400 trainees yearly in jobs related to maintenance of electrical, thermal and air conditioning equipment, and renewable energy material.
The facility will have workshops for electrical installation, industrial maintenance, and installation of sanitary, thermal, commercial refrigeration, air conditioning, and renewable energy equipment, as well as classrooms, computer rooms and a library.
The centre, to span 12 months, is the fruit of a partnership between the Foundation, and the office for vocation training and labour promotion which will also provide management and pedagogical supervision.
