His Majesty King Mohammed VI launched in Ain Chock district the building works of a new Primary Health Care Centre.
An integral part of the Casablanca-Settat community-based socio-medical program (2016-2020), the centre is in line with efforts by the sovereign to improve access of the underprivileged to quality community health services, speed up interventions in case of medical emergency, and fight irregularity of periodic medical supervision that could worsen the health condition of patients with chronic illnesses.
Its implementation comes under the action program led by the Foundation and meant to back the national medical sector via community programs to promote the existing offer as well as innovative mechanisms for the poor.
The second of its kind to be carried out by the Foundation in the city of Casablanca, following the one inaugurated by HM the King in June 2017 in Sidi Othmane district, the Ain Chock Primary Health Care Centre will serve over 70,000 inhabitants from disadvantaged areas.
The level 2 facility will span 12 months and will be built over 739 square metres. It will offer local populations community-based services of medical care in cases of emergencies, chronic pathologies, and curative and preventive care. The beneficiaries will have access to a multidisciplinary health care that covers chronic diseases and maternal and child health.
The centre will include consultation rooms (general medicine, cardiology, nephrology, endocrinology, ophthalmology, maternal-child health), emergency care, oral and dental care, vaccination, an area for nutrition education, a day hospital, and a laboratory.
