The Mohammed VI National Center for the Disabled (CNMH) and its eight regional sections are an autonomously managed organisation under the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity. These centers were specially created to serve as a framework for addressing disability issues. Active since 2006, they work to facilitate access for children, young people and adults with disabilities to education, social activities, medical care, sport, and training which was introduced in 2010.
The year 2023 saw by a strong mobilization of the CNMH and the valuable commitment of local economic actors towards the professional integration of young people with mental disabilities. This has resulted in an exceptional rate of recruitment into the everyday environment of young people who have been trained in various trades such as gardening, housekeeping, catering, baking and cooking. The training courses offered within the CNMH, in partnership with the Office for Professional Training and Labor Promotion, are indeed carefully chosen to meet the needs of the job market.
Initiated by the CNMH of Agadir, a regional section which was commissioned in 2022, this mobilization has notably enabled the establishment of partnership agreements with the Regional Council of Tourism of Agadir Souss Massa, the CGEM Souss Massa and the Hilton Group.
Twelve interns (including one young woman) aged between 19 and 24, were placed on a pre-employment internship contract in four prestigious hotels operating in Tagahzout Bay, during the period from June to August 2023. The partner hotels that opened their doors to these young adults include the Hyatt Regency Taghazout, Hyatt Place Taghazout Bay, Hilton Taghazout Bay Beach Resort and Fairmont Taghazout Bay.
According to their area of training, the young trainees joined the housekeeping, catering and food production departments.
New agreements are also scheduled to to concluded by the end of the year by the CNMH – Agadir Section with the Hyatt group and the Fairmont, thus demonstrating the hotel industry's interest in integrating young people with disabilities in their establishments.
Similarly, four other young people trained in catering and room service from the CNMH – Casablanca Section have been integrated into an everyday environment, within the Suites Appart-hôtel establishments, Newrest Morocco and in a local restaurant.
The Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity and the CNMH and its regional sections warmly thank the partners and the various contributors for their commitments to young people with mental disabilities.
