The Foundation has set up an accommodation platform for the benefit of the earthquake-affected populations of douar Degouj, in the province of Al Haouz.
As part of its humanitarian support program for the douars affected by the Al Haouz earthquake, the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity has provided families in the Degouj douar (located 2 kilometers from Talat Nyaacoub) with a platform consisting of fully furnished and equipped accommodation.
This solidarity initiative, deployed in partnership with the National Ports Agency and local authorities, made it possible to welcome fifty-four households, or two hundred and forty people, including widows and people with disabilities, from the Degouj douar. Located at an altitude of 1,300 meters, it is one of the areas most affected by the earthquake in the province of Al Haouz.
With an area of 3,000 m2 and established on land made available by a patron, the platform was developed and technically prepared in order to create the best living conditions for the beneficiary families. The accommodation spaces were organized around sixty-four containers or modular housing. They were divided into fifty-four homes (surface areas of 36m2 and 18m2 depending on the size of the households), a nursery (two containers) and sanitary blocks.
The Foundation also took charge of equipping the accommodation, providing each module with furniture, kitchen equipment and utensils, household linen and cleaning products. Likewise, the nursery has been equipped with furniture and games to accommodate children in a friendly environment.
The Foundation remains mobilized and continues its projects to distribute humanitarian aid that meets the needs of the earthquake-affected populations in the provinces of Al Haouz, Chichaoua and Taroudant.
