The Foundation Mohammed V for Solidarity continues its efforts to promote the economic integration of disadvantaged youth from the Casablanca-Settat region.
On November 6, the Foundation organized the distribution of professional equipment to 176 project leaders who have initiated income-generating activities in the provinces and prefectures of the Casablanca-Settat region. This effort is a part of the implementation of the Economic Activity Integration Program (PIAE).
On the occasion of the 49th anniversary of the Green March, the Foundation carried out the distribution of equipment and materials to support the economic initiatives of 176 young people, including 97 women from disadvantaged backgrounds. The project leaders are part of the third cohort (2023-2024) of income-generating activities supported by the PIAE. This cohort includes sectors such as audiovisual, IT, poultry farming, smartphone repair, digital printing, carpentry, hairdressing and aesthetics, and bakery-pastry. The ceremony for the distribution took place in the presence of the Wali of the Casablanca-Settat region - Governor of the Casablanca Prefecture, the President of the Casablanca-Settat Regional Council and the President of the Casablanca Municipal Council.
The PIAE was initiated in 2017 and aims to support the creation and development of economic initiatives led by young entrepreneurs in various sectors through the provision of professional equipment as well as post- and pre-creation support over a period of two years. The goal is to create the necessary conditions for the successful development of these activities and contribute to improving the income and living conditions of young project leaders. For the Casablanca-Settat region, the PIAE is carried out in partnership with the Regional Council, which contributes to the financing of the equipment.
Between 2021 and 2024, the PIAE has supported 682 income-generating activities, including 82 production and service cooperatives from the Casablanca-Settat region. Nearly 2,000 direct jobs have been created through these economic initiatives. A total investment of 25 million dirhams has been allocated to support these 682 activities, with 8.5 million dirhams dedicated to the third cohort (2023-2024).
