HM King Mohammed VI inaugurated at Youssoufia district the first Centre Medical of Proximity – Foundation Mohammed V for Solidarity a medical center, built for a global investment of 63 million dirhams.
This solidarity project, whose construction works were launched by the Sovereign on March 24, 2017, stems from the royal will to reinforce the health offer via community-based and quality medical services that meet the needs of citizens, mainly the underprivileged. The new health facility, which will be open 24 hours a day, will ease the pressure on the emergency units at the existing hospitals. The center, which hosts four emergency doctors, will provide periodic and regular medical follow-up to people whose health condition requires specialized consultations. The facility will serve a population of over 160,000 inhabitants, thus ensuring more complementarity at the regional level. It includes a pole for medical emergency, a pole for specialized consultations (general medicine, endocrinology, nephrology, cardiology, ophthalmology, pediatrics, gynecology), an orthopedic rehabilitation unit, a mother-child health center, a medical imaging unit, a medical analysis laboratory, a sterilization unit and a medical laboratory, in addition to a pharmacy and a morgue. In order to fully accomplish its mission, the Center brings together 24 general practitioners, emergency physicians and specialist doctors, 27 nurses and paramedical staff, as well as four administrators.
Like those planned in Tangiers, Casablanca and Témara, the new Center is part of a program led by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity which is aimed at reinforcing health and medical services.
