The Foundation is launching a medical-surgical caravan in the Province of Taounate as part of its program of medical and humanitarian activities during the month of Ramadan
This initiative is scheduled to take place from April 4 to 8 for the benefit of inhabitants of the town of Ain Aicha (located 10 km from Taounate) and the neighboring douars. It will allow the surgical management of cataract cases as well as abdominal surgeries for 80 patients at the Provincial Hospital of Taounate. The initiative will also offer free services in general and specialized medicine to adults and children in the region. A third component of initiative will be devoted to the distribution of 200 pairs of glasses frames mainly intended for children with vision problems.
The campaign is conducted in collaboration with the Provincial Delegation of Health and Social Protection of Taounate, the University Hospital Center of Fez, the Provincial Hospital Center of Taounate, the local authorities and the Foundation's partner medical associations (Association Amis des Visually Impaired, Provincial Support Association for Patients with Kidney Failure and the Al Firdaous Association of Taounate).
The caravan is deployed to two intervention sites: the Provincial Hospital Center of Taounate where the surgical operations will be carried out and Ain Aicha where the caravan dedicated to consultations and multidisciplinary care will be located to provide general medicine, pediatric, rheumatology, pulmonology, ENT, ophthalmology, cardiology, gastroenterology and gynecology), radiology, biology and drug delivery services.
A significant human and technical effort (10 mobile medical units) is planned in order to offer the necessary care and meet the demand of the populations in the best possible conditions. In addition to the Foundation's teams (medical staff and social workers), there will be a staff of 28 specialist doctors, 12 general practitioners and a paramedical body of 16 people (nurses, midwives and technicians) who will take part in this solidarity operation.
