HM King Mohammed VI launched the building works of a complex for artistic and cultural activities, a new example of HM the King's unwavering solicitude for the sector of art and culture.
This socio-cultural complex, to be carried out by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, will improve access of local population to facilities housing artistic and cultural activities that would develop intellectual potential and build creative capacities.
Totalling 16 million dirhams, the project will be built over 3,000 square meters and will be, upon its completion, a place that would host art and culture-related services and activities, and help with the emergence of new talents among young generations and with the development of artistic projects.
Fruit of a partnership between the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, the culture and communication ministry, the prefecture council and the council of Sale, the future complex will benefit over 20,000 young people yearly. It will host a theatre centre with a performance room that seats 200 people, with backstage and artists' dressing rooms, an exhibition hall and a workshop for learning theatre techniques.
This cultural project will also include a musical centre, a choreography centre, a graphic arts centre and a book club housing a library, a media library and a workshop for learning the techniques of book restoration, binding and gilding.
A place for training and rehearsal for theatre and musical groups, the facility, to be constructed within two years, will contribute to reinforcing the region's artistic and cultural infrastructure.
