Direct market access in the heart of Casablanca
The Solidarity Market is an innovative fair-trade market. It is entirely dedicated to the sale of products from Moroccan women's cooperatives. It combines local products and handicrafts in a single, permanent location. Choosing Casablanca as a backdrop for the Solidarity Market was not fortuitous. The city offers wide access to end consumers, stakeholders and economic decision-makers. And in the long run, it provides a link between the solidarity-based economy and the dynamics of the mainstream economy.
Showcasing Moroccan heritage and know-how
Food products, cosmetics, handicrafts, textiles... With more than 5000 local products, the Solidarity Market offers a unique range of products and brands. Local products from more than 60 regions are available. In keeping with fair trade principles, the products are offered at the producer's selling price.
A tailor-made social support platform
The Solidarity Market also provides cooperatives with a program to upgrade their skills and enhance the value of their products. The program includes facility refurbishment and acquisition of up to standard equipment. Cooperatives are coached in the process of obtaining ONSSA accreditation, which is required for the sale of food products to the general public. This process is conducted with partners, members of the Solidarity Market Management Association.
